about

Long before my previous album, “Fox Hill Lane” was released I had been chatting to Chris Letcher about collaborating together for my next recording. I was completely blown away by the production, the feel and the song writing on his first solo record “Frieze”. We had done a few shows in London together and I really wanted to find a way to get him on the album. Regrettably time constraints didn’t allow us to make it happen in time. Fortunately when the concept for an “out-takes” album came along, I dropped Chris a call and said lets finish off what we started which is resulted in three new versions of tracks from “FHL” presented here. Chris Letcher is a genius. There is not too much more to say. You only need ears to enjoy anything that Chris puts his magical weave on. This tune also features another one of my personal favourite South African musicians, Madala Kunene who plays Jewish Harp and sings in Zulu.
