  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

"The Farm Demos" were initially offered up as a CD-R perk in 2015 on my self-titled albums crowdfunding page. I've re-compiled them here and included 2 additional out-takes which turned up with a bit more digging. Handmade CD-R's printed by me. And with love. But of course. This includes a download of the release as well as scans of some 35mm photographs taken on location and a 2000 word novella of sorts about the sessions and the tracks. Hens teeth one might say.

about

The recordings presented here are the demonstrations and pre-production sessions for my 2016 self-titled album. Originally intended as a companion disc in the form of a 4 track mini-EP, once reviewed and compiled, the completed recordings here turned out to be a fair bit longer than the final full length album itself. "The Farm Demos" were initially offered up as a perk in 2015 on the official albums crowdfunding page but got very little circulation. Exactly nine people ordered the handmade CD-R's. I've re-compiled them here and included 2 additional out-takes which turned up with a bit more digging. If you're one of the 9 lovely folk who ordered this back then, hit me up and I'll send you the two bonus tracks. Promise.

These sessions offer up a greener, less varnished view on the official album which went on to become another thingy altogether. In my mind, "The Farm Demos" really are their own thingy entirely. Having always been keen on unofficial, bootleg type recordings, I'm happy to see this finally getting out there beyond the 9 existing copies. No offence. But thanks.

If you dug the 2016 release and want to hear where the ideas for that music all stemmed from, dive right in. As a hidden bonus, these demos also includes some rather odd cross-processed 35mm photograph's shot on location as well as a 2000 word ramble by my good self about each track, the merry times spent on that there plaas, the joy of the Crowned Hornbill call and the merits of trespassing.
